Basketball Game Preview: Sidney Yellowjackets vs. Northmont Thunderbolts

Sidney and Northmont are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Sidney Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to face off against the Northmont Thunderbolts at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sidney is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Last Saturday, Sidney had just enough and edged Memorial out 46-43. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 264th, while the Roughriders are ranked 600th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Northmont didn't have quite enough to beat Springboro on Friday and fell 38-35.

Sidney has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Northmont, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-8.

Sidney opened the new year with a less-than-successful 59-47 defeat to Northmont. Can Sidney avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
