Basketball Recap: Hayden Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Hayden came into Friday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Soroco Rams with a sharp 67-41 victory on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 71-30 back in January.

Hayden's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jace Bene, who posted 17 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. The contest was Bene's third in a row with at least 17 points. Elijah Gioia was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and ten boards.

Hayden smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Joseph Cordova and Brayden Dudley certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Cordova scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Dudley went 7-for-17 to rack up 17 points and five assists. Those five assists gave Dudley a new career-high.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-17. As for Soroco, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-20.

Hayden does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Soroco, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 75-44 loss against Grand Valley on the 1st.
