Softball Recap: Oswego East Now 8-2 over Last Ten Games

Oswego East barely beat Plainfield North the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolves blew past the Tigers 12-5 on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-9 back in April.

Sophia Anderson looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Danielle Stone and Allie Gatz did most of the damage at the plate: Stone went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Gatz went 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave Stone a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Maday, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Oswego East hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 8-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Oswego East is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Plainfield North, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-16.
