Basketball Recap: Corsicana Takes a Loss

Corsicana lost against Red Oak back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Corsicana Tigers were beaten by the Red Oak Hawks 84-34. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 792nd, while the Hawks are ranked 92nd).

Leading Red Oak to victory were Kierstyn Totten and Ariana Warren. Totten posted 20 points, while Warren had 19 points. Those 19 points gave Warren a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kenedi Griffin, who earned 13 points.

Corsicana has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-21 record this season. As for Red Oak, they pushed their record up to 19-11 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Corsicana has already played their next contest, a 60-59 win against Ennis on the 4th. As for Red Oak, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-30 victory against Crandall on the 4th.
