Softball Recap: Tumwater Now 10-1 over Last 11 Games

Timberline typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Tumwater proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Blazers. The Thunderbirds have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blazers, too.

Sarah Stevens was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, Jaime Haase was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Marissa La Praim, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Tumwater lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive contests.

Tumwater has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Timberline, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-5.

As of now, neither Tumwater nor the Blazers have any future games scheduled.
