Softball Recap: Plant Takes a Loss

Plant fell victim to Steinbrenner and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 1-0. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Gigi Cozzens was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Plant's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Steinbrenner, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Plant will take on Gaither at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cowboys have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Steinbrenner, they will challenge Wharton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
