Softball Recap: Western Hills Extends Winning Streak to Four

Western Hills waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with an 18-14 victory over the Southwest Raiders. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 7-5 win the Raiders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.

The team relied heavily on Taylor Torres, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Raquel Pena, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Western Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .689. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Western Hills now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Southwest, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Western Hills and Southwest will both be playing Eastern Hills the next time they take the field. Southwest will host Eastern Hills at 7:30 p.m. on March 25th, while Western Hills will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on March 28th.
