The Minisink Valley Warriors will take on the Middletown Middie Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Minisink Valley 4, Middletown 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
While Minisink Valley's win against Wallenpaupack Area wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Buckhorns on Thursday.

Emily Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Minisink Valley's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Keira Filip, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. Natalie Rogers was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Middletown got the win against Valley Central on Monday by a conclusive 11-5.
Bethannie French made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. French was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That hit marked the first that she has got this season.
In other batting news, Middletown got a massive performance out of Keira Stroud, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Platero, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Middletown's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Minisink Valley, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Minisink Valley has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Middletown struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Minisink Valley skirted past Middletown 3-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Middie Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
