Basketball Game Preview: Waupaca Comets vs. Wrightstown Tigers

The Waupaca Comets will head out to square off against the Wrightstown Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Waupaca has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 17.

On Tuesday, Waupaca took a blow against New London, falling 85-46. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 358th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 100th).

Meanwhile, Wrightstown suffered their closest loss since January 14, 2025 on Monday. They fell just short of Sheboygan Falls by a score of 52-49.

Wrightstown's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Waupaca, their loss dropped their record down to 2-16.

Waupaca came up short against Wrightstown when the teams last played back in January, falling 50-45. Can the Comets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
