Softball Preview: Imperial Tigers vs. Yuma Catholic Shamrocks        
        
		
            
 Imperial is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Yuma Catholic is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Imperial Tigers will take on the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks at 6:30  p.m.  on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 Last Tuesday, Imperial never let their opponents score. They blew past Central 11-0.
  Madeleine Magdelano and  Jayden Rutledge made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound,  Magdelano   didn't allow a single  earned run over four innings pitched. Meanwhile,  Rutledge   struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Magdelano has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. At bat,  Magdelano  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-4, while  Rutledge  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Addison Clark, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-5. She has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Mirella Barron, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-5.
 Meanwhile, Yuma Catholic made easy work of Parker  on Thursday and carried off  a  14-1 win.
 Yuma Catholic let  Kassandra Reynoso and  Adayah Carrillo loose on the outfield. Reynoso  went 2-for-4 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles, while  Carrillo  went 2-for-3 with three  runs, a  triple,  and a  double. Another player making a difference was  Alondra Cordova, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Imperial is  on a roll lately: they've  won eight of their last nine games,  which provided a nice bump to their 13-2-1 record  this season. As for Yuma Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 20-2-1.
 Monday's   matchup will be a test for both team's pitchers. Imperial hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .325. However, it's not like Yuma Catholic struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .402. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
