Basketball Recap: Seymour Comes Up Short

On Saturday, the Seymour Owls were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-47 to the Greenwood Woodmen.

Greenwood found their leader in sophomore Joey Ortman, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Isaac O'Neal, who went 5-for-9 en route to 10 points and four steals.

Seymour's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Greenwood, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.

Looking ahead, Seymour will take on Greensburg at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seymour is on a five-game streak of home wins, Greensburg a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Greenwood, they will face off against Mooresville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
