Basketball Recap: Donna Comes Up Short

Donna lost against Harlingen South back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Donna Redskins lost 51-26 to the Harlingen South Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Redskins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 956th, while the Hawks are ranked 360th).

Harlingen South got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Fernanda Martinez out in front who went 5 of 8 on her way to 10 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Allison Miller, who posted eight points along with ten boards and eight steals.

Donna is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-15. As for Harlingen South, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season.

Donna has already played their next contest (against Edcouch-Elsa), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Harlingen South will face off against Porter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
