Softball Recap: Coleman Drops Season-High Score on Fulton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coleman). Everything went their way against the Fulton Pirates on Wednesday as they made off with a 22-7 victory. The win continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won eight in a row.

Klaira Sysak was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs and two RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elley Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

Coleman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are 4-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Coleman's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Fulton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coleman will head out to square off against Glenn at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.31 runs per game on average), something the Comets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Fulton, they are taking a road trip to challenge Ovid-Elsie at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates are facing the Marauders at the right time seeing as the Marauders are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
