Baseball Recap: Bishop's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Bishop dropped their record down to 12-7-1 on Monday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Classical Academy Caimans by a score of 4-2. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 7-2 to the Caimans when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Bishop's got a good showing from Clay Peckham, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Peckham has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bishop's saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Henry Armstrong, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Armstrong has launched this season.

As for Classical Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-11. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch.

On Classical Academy's side, Aidan Suitor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks.

While Bishop's had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
