Basketball Recap: Berean Christian Falls Despite Big Games from Derek Vasquez and Jaden Vasquez

Berean Christian and Trinity Christian Academy squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Berean Christian had to settle for second. They came up short against the Trinity Christian Academy Warriors, falling 74-52. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Berean Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Jaden Vasquez and Derek Vasquez. Jaden went 7 of 10 on his way to 15 points, while Derek posted 14 points and seven rebounds. Those 15 points gave Jaden a new career-high. Matthew Wall was another key player, putting up nine points.

Trinity Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Paul Morency, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Levi Kuzmin, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Berean Christian's loss dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Trinity Christian Academy, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-11.
