Football Recap: Triton Central Tigers vs. Beech Grove Hornets
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Triton Central). They breezed by the Beech Grove Hornets at home to the tune of 55-26 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Triton Central had a senior duo take command as Sam Collier threw for 211 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes and Chase Chandler picked up 84 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Chandler's longest reception was for an impressive 52 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Triton Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 243 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2023.
Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jeremiah Lee, who rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown. Lee's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 115 rushing yards dating back to last season. Another signal caller making a difference was Bishop Moore, who threw for 140 yards and two touchdowns.
Triton Central pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Beech Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
