Baseball Recap: Central Woodstock Triumphs

Central Woodstock took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Strasburg, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Falcons skirted past the Rams 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Falcons: when they faced off against the Rams back in April, they had to take a 13-3 loss.

Isaac Barb spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Central Woodstock is 9-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Central Woodstock saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxson Kelican, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Central Woodstock's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Strasburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-4.

Central Woodstock does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Strasburg, they will square off against Luray at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
