If Southern Nash wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played D.H. Conley, they should've done a better job of containing Cayden Hill. The Vikings enjoyed a cozy 62-44 victory over the Firebirds on Friday with plenty of help from Hill, who shot 5-for-6 from long range and dropped a double-double with 33 points and 12 rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

Despite the defeat, Southern Nash had strong showings from Zamir Cannady, who posted eight points and six boards, and Jaden Hartsfield, who put up nine points and six rebounds. Javean Perry also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

The win got D.H. Conley back to even at 1-1. As for Southern Nash, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, D.H. Conley is taking a road trip to square off against Hoggard at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. D.H. Conley's defense better be ready for this one: Hoggard has averaged an impressive 66 points per game this season. As for Southern Nash, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-48 victory against Beddingfield on the 9th.
