Softball Recap: Cardinal Newman Wins Going Away Against Berean Christian

Cardinal Newman won the last time they faced Berean Christian and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Crusaders put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 17-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Crusaders.

Maeve Adams was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Cardinal Newman got a massive performance out of Annabelle Walsh, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs Walsh has posted since back in March. Elle Perrotto was another key player, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Cardinal Newman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Cardinal Newman's record is now 5-12. As for Berean Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cardinal Newman will face off against Westminster Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Berean Christian, they will challenge Port St. Lucie at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
