Basketball Recap: Ten Straight Home Wins for Southwestern

Southwestern waltzed into their game on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 48-42 W against the Westfield Wolverines. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 50-37 back in December of 2024.

Reagan Weingart and Mackenzie Schumaker certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Weingart posted 11 points and six rebounds, while Schumaker scored ten points. The dominant performance gave Weingart a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Olivia Wolfe, who put up four points and three steals.

Southwestern pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.6 points over those games. As for Westfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.
