Basketball Recap: Jay Skates Past Northview with Ease

Jay won the last time they faced Northview and things went their way on Thursday too. The Jay Royals claimed a resounding 72-38 win over the Northview Chiefs. The victory was some much needed relief for the Royals as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Northview saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Caleb Levins posted 14 points and eight boards. Those eight rebounds gave Levins a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kayden Samelson, who earned eight points and 15 boards.

Jay's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Northview, they dropped their record down to 2-19 with the defeat, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Paxton the next time they take the court. Northview will head out to face Paxton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Jay will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
