Volleyball Recap: Chillicothe Takes a Loss

If Chillicothe was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Jackson on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cavaliers fell 3-1 to the Waverly Tigers on Monday. The Cavaliers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-20, 21-25, 25-16.

Evelyn Hamman paced Chillicothe's offense, picking up 33 kills. Hamman got some help from Isabella Witte and her 40 assists. Marisa Stiteler controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Chillicothe's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Waverly, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Chillicothe didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Vinton County on the 7th. As for Waverly, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Portsmouth West on the 7th.
