Preview: Lyle/Pacelli Athletics vs. Houston Hurricanes
Lyle/Pacelli is 8-2 against Houston since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics will look to defend their home court against the Houston Hurricanes at 7:15 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Mabel-Canton scored an imposing 66 points on Tuesday, Lyle/Pacelli still came out on top. Lyle/Pacelli took their game against Mabel-Canton 75-66. Lyle/Pacelli's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Meanwhile, Houston sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-46 victory over Glenville-Emmons on Tuesday.
Houston's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Morgan Rohweder, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Rohweder has scored at least 25% of Houston's points. Another player making a difference was Carter Geiwitz, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds.
Lyle/Pacelli now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Houston, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.
Everything came up roses for Lyle/Pacelli against Houston in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 92-37 win. Does Lyle/Pacelli have another victory up their sleeve, or will Houston turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
