Manvel lost to Dawson back in March, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Mavericks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Eagles. That's two games straight that the Mavericks have won by just one run.

Kaylah Hopkins was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Blaire Spurlock was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Manvel hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive contests.

Manvel is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Dawson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-14-1.

Looking ahead, Manvel will face off against Dobie at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Longhorns will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Mavericks surely won't give up without a fight. Dawson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
