Volleyball Recap: Mt. Pleasant's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It was a good run, but Mt. Pleasant unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Live Oak Acorns. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Cardinals haven't been shut out since back in February.

While Mt. Pleasant was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-20, 25-20.

Mt. Pleasant's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 8-2. As for Live Oak, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mt. Pleasant will face off against rival Gunderson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Live Oak is set to square off against their familiar foe Gilroy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
