Lowell extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 5-4 in the process. Everything went their way against the Hobart Brickies as they made off with an 8-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Preslee Hill was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Baron, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Lowell hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive games.
As for Hobart, they now have a losing record of 4-5. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
On Hobart's side, Elizabeth Crespo was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Crespo has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Hobart saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emili Knestrict, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Lowell and Hobart should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Red Devils will take on Merrillville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (33 vs. 296). Meanwhile, Hobart (ranked 95th) will meet Morgan Township (ranked 232nd) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
