Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Piner). They took down the Healdsburg Greyhounds 83-67 on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Prospectors in their matchups with the Greyhounds: they've now won five in a row.

Piner's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Apollo Pereira led the charge by dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. Pereira has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 14 times he's played. Brendan Walker was another key player, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 15 boards.

When it comes to explaining why Healdsburg lost, don't look at Ethan Overdorf. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 14 en route to 22 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Thatcher Little, who posted 22 points and five boards.

Piner pushed their record up to 17-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points over those games. As for Healdsburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.

Coming up, Piner will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Vincent de Paul at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Healdsburg, they will head out on the road to square off against Elsie Allen at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
