Volleyball Recap: Dylanna Akwaboah Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Carter

Hesperia had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Carter Lions. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Scorpions also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2019.

Hesperia's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylanna Akwaboah, who had 13 assists. Akwaboah has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more assists the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Victoria Parra, who had six kills and three aces.

Hesperia was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Hesperia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Granite Hills on the 9th. As for Carter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Indian Springs on the 9th.
