Marist waltzed into their match on Thursday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Etowah Eagles. The War Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Marist found their leader in freshman Sawyer Straley, who had 12 digs and one assist.

Marist's win bumped their record up to 21-3. As for Etowah, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-9.

Marist wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against North Cobb Christian on the 18th. As for Etowah, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Woodstock at 5:00 p.m. on October 2.
