Softball Recap: Heyworth Takes a Loss

Heyworth lost against Deer Creek-Mackinaw back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Hornets took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chiefs.

Haley Rogers was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those doubles were her first of the season.

Heyworth's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Deer Creek-Mackinaw, they pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Heyworth will venture away from home to square off against Lexington at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Deer Creek-Mackinaw, they will welcome LeRoy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their 20th straight win, something the Chiefs surely won't give up without a fight.
