Basketball Recap: North Surry Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Zarah Love and Kalyn Collins

North Surry has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They came up short against the North Wilkes Vikings on Friday, falling 63-38. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Vikings are ranked ninth).

North Surry's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kalyn Collins, who posted ten points, and Zarah Love, who had seven points and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Love a new career-high in assists (three).

North Surry's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for North Wilkes, the victory was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-1.

Coming up, North Surry will head out on the road to face off against Surry Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Surry Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.7 points per game this season. North Wilkes does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
