Softball Game Preview: Justin-Siena Braves vs. Sonoma Valley Dragons

Justin-Siena is 0-10 against Sonoma Valley since April of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Braves will host the Dragons at 4:00 p.m. Justin-Siena has given up an average of 15.4 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Justin-Siena is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 19-18 heartbreaker at the hands of Hercules. Even though they lost, the Braves' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 7 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Caiden Grimmer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored four runs and stole seven bases while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Isabella Aranda was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.

Meanwhile, Sonoma Valley came up short against Rancho Cotate on Monday, falling 14-4.

Katherine Kiser was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Sonoma Valley has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Justin-Siena, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Justin-Siena suffered a grim 22-1 defeat to Sonoma Valley in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Braves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
