Baseball Recap: Mira Mesa Comes Up Short

Mira Mesa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bonita Vista Barons. That's two games in a row now that the Marauders have lost by just one run.

Mira Mesa saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tristan Aguon, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Mira Mesa's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Bonita Vista, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mira Mesa will welcome Ridgeview at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bonita Vista, they will host Cathedral Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Dons' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Barons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
