Grand Valley had won three straight games and Daniel Gronewoller did his part to make it four on Friday. The Grand Valley Cardinals came out on top in a nail-biter against the North Fork Miners, sneaking past 45-42 which was due in part to Gronewoller, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 13 boards. What's more, he also posted a 78% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024.

Porter Ostermiller was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals. Grand Valley is 6-2 when Ostermiller posts three or more steals, but 4-8 otherwise.

Several Miners players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was John Hart, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Moss Inman, who posted eight points and three blocks.

The victory got Grand Valley back to even at 10-10. As for North Fork, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-12.

Grand Valley has already played their next match, a 64-41 win against Rangely on the 22nd. As for North Fork, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-55 victory against Meeker on the 22nd.
