West Marion put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Our Lady Academy Crescents with a sharp 21-1 victory. Considering the Trojans have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Izzy Pittman was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time she hasn't allowed a single hit since back in February. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, West Marion got a massive performance out of Gracie Odom, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. What's more, Odom posted four RBI, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was McKenzie 'Bug' Stringer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.

West Marion hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in eight consecutive matchups.

West Marion's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Our Lady Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

West Marion will head out on the road to face off against St. Patrick at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Our Lady Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Forrest County Agricultural at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
