Port Neches-Groves came tearing into Friday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Kingwood Park Panthers get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Indians have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mckayla Hranicky was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base.

In other batting news, Port Neches-Groves let Kiana Ledoux and Mya Beresford run wild. Ledoux went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double, while Beresford went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. The dominant performance gave Beresford a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Lillie Mason, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Port Neches-Groves was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in five consecutive matches.

Port Neches-Groves' win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Kingwood Park, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-1 record.
