B District 5 Top Player Performances of the Week
Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!
Nate Kelley's Big Game Leads Scottsbluff over Mccook
Starting off the list is Scottsbluff's Nate Kelley, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Kelley rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, and also threw for 71 yards and a touchdown. His longest rush was for an impressive 56 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Kelley and Scottsbluff will head out on the road to face off against York at 6:55 p.m. on Friday. The Bearcats got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Dukes, probably because Kelley had a solid game then too: he rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

Cano Posts Huge Game in 45-7 Defeat
Cesar Cano continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his fourth-straight game with at least 110 rushing yards. He rushed for 169 yards and a touchdown. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making three total tackles and defending two passes.
Lexington dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Cano and Lexington will head out to take on McCook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Barron Williams stepped things up a notch to give Gering the 'W'. Nobody could stop Williams as he picked up 47 receiving yards and a touchdown.
For the season, Williams has caught 9 touchdowns while averaging 54.8 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after eight games last season, he was only averaging 19 receiving yards per game.

Bo Gable Makes It Two for Gering
Keeping Williams company is Bo Gable, a fellow Gering player. He picked up 26 receiving yards and a touchdown.
This season, Gable has caught 2 touchdowns while averaging 24 receiving yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 8.25 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 35.63 rushing yards.
