Baseball Game Preview: Las Lomas Knights vs. Mt. Diablo Red Devils

For the second straight game, Las Lomas will face off against Mt. Diablo. The Knights will be playing at home against the Red Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Las Lomas has five straight victories, Mt. Diablo has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Las Lomas is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Mt. Diablo get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Preston Hillis looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Julian Milojkovic, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Las Lomas is 3-1 when Milojkovic posts two or more runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Kyler Christensen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Las Lomas kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matchups.

The win got Las Lomas back to even at 9-9. As for Mt. Diablo, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
