Pelham is 10-0 against Calera since January of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 12:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Pelham's tournament run continued when they took on Newton last Thursday. Pelham fell 57-46 to Newton. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 91st in Alabama, while the Rams are ranked 19th in Georgia).

Meanwhile, Calera suffered their biggest defeat since November 12th last Thursday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Springville an easy 72-50 victory. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Calera's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Pelham, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Pelham strolled past Calera in their previous meeting back in November by a score of 64-45. Does Pelham have another victory up their sleeve, or will Calera turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
