Softball Recap: Page Comes Up Short

If Page was riding high fresh off their 9-0 takedown of Columbia Central last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Patriots fell 5-2 to the Nolensville Knights on Tuesday. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Emily King was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Anna Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Isabel Melton, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI.

Page's defeat dropped their record down to 19-5-1. As for Nolensville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Page will take on Ravenwood at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Nolensville, they will challenge Columbia Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season.
