Basketball Recap: St. Henry Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

If Van Wert wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played St. Henry, they should've done a better job of containing Austin Zimmerman. The St. Henry Redskins walked away with a 55-48 win over the Van Wert Cougars on Saturday thanks in part to Zimmerman, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. St. Henry is 2-1 when Zimmerman posts ten or more rebounds, but 7-10 otherwise.

Brayden Heath was another key player, putting up six points and five boards. What's more, he also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024.

The victory was the third in a row for St. Henry, bringing their record for this year to 9-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points over those games. As for Van Wert, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Henry will host Versailles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Van Wert, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Cougars challenge the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
