Baseball Recap: Paxton-Buckley-Loda Comes Up Short

After flying high against Iroquois West last Friday, Paxton-Buckley-Loda came back down to earth. Paxton-Buckley-Loda took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Centennial Chargers on Monday. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 14-11 to the Chargers when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Tyler Cole was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Charles Cambridge, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Cole wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Paxton-Buckley-Loda kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Paxton-Buckley-Loda's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Centennial, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Paxton-Buckley-Loda will head out to challenge St. Teresa at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Paxton-Buckley-Loda is facing St. Teresa at the right time seeing as St. Teresa is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Centennial, they will head out on the road to square off against St. Thomas More at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
