Softball Game Preview: Johnsonville Flashes vs. Latta Vikings

Johnsonville is 1-9 against Latta since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Flashes will head out to square off against the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Johnsonville barely beat Carvers Bay the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Flashes blew past the Bears 17-2 on Thursday. The Flashes not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 13, 2025 (when they won 15-0).

Mallory Prosser spent all four innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Peyton Wall, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Brianna Lawrimore, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Johnsonville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Latta and Hannah-Pamplico, and Latta kept the tradition alive. The Vikings put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 17-5 win on Friday. Considering the Vikings have won six games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory (which was Johnsonville's third in a row) raised their record to 6-12. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Latta, their record now sits at 7-9.
