Memorial is a perfect 4-0 against Emerson since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Memorial Warriors will host the Emerson Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. Memorial is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Emerson will be up against a hot Memorial squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went Memorial's way against Independence on Tuesday as Memorial made off with an 8-1 win. Considering the Warriors have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Megan Wilson made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 15 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Memorial let Zoey Chasko and Ayden King run wild. Chasko scored a run while going 2-for-4, while King scored a run while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave King a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Caiden Coleman, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Memorial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 10.4.
Meanwhile, Emerson fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Lebanon Trail on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Trail Blazers by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Mavericks have suffered since March 13, 2024.
Addison Hudnall spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 14 Ks.
At the plate, Emerson saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gianna Lipsky, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Amilee Stapp was another, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.
Emerson's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-6. As for Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Memorial hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. However, it's not like Emerson struggles in that department as they've averaged .345. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Memorial's way against Emerson in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Memorial made off with a 7-0 win. Will Memorial repeat their success, or does Emerson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
