Varina takes down Huguenot in a playoff battle

Recap: Varina Blue Devils vs. Huguenot Falcons
The Varina Blue Devils extended their postseason success on Friday against the Huguenot Falcons. They pulled ahead with a 21-20 photo finish over the Falcons. The win was nothing new for Varina as they're now sitting on three straight.
Despite the loss, Huguenot still got an impressive performance from Jason Wright, who rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 208 yards and a touchdown.
Varina pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 points per game. As for Huguenot, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
Varina will head out on the road to face off against King George at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. King George is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Huguenot does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
