Softball Game Preview: Houghton Lake Bobcats vs. Lake City Trojans

Houghton Lake is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will square off against the Lake City Trojans at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Houghton Lake and 12 for Lake City dating back to last season.

Houghton Lake came up short against Charlevoix on Monday, falling 17-4.

Jayden Peel made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Kaylie Moore also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Lake City fell victim to Grayling and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 16-0 to the Vikings.

Houghton Lake's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Lake City, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
