West Bladen hasn't had much luck against Midway recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Knights will face off against the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as West Bladen comes in on three and Midway on four.
While West Bladen's win against Clinton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights skirted past the Dark Horses 6-5.

Allison Hickman was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Hickman wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Marlene Crabtree, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Midway made easy work of Fairmont on Friday and carried off a 7-1 victory. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.
Like West Bladen, Midway also got a great game from a two-way player: Jordyn Christopher. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Christopher was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Karabeth Benton was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Samantha Carter was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Midway kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matchups.
Midway's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for West Bladen, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
West Bladen might still be hurting after the 17-4 defeat they got from Midway when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
