Basketball Recap: West Lincoln Find Success

West Lincoln hasn't had much luck at home recently (they'd lost four straight) but thanks in part to Jayce Rowe that streak is no more. The West Lincoln Rebels were the clear victor by a 69-47 margin over the East Burke Cavaliers on Friday thanks in part to Rowe, who went 8 of 19 on his way to 24 points along with six assists and five steals. The match was his fifth in a row with at least ten points.

Despite the defeat, East Burke saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Carter Bennett went 6 for 13 en route to 17 points. The dominant performance gave Bennett a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dautry Ragle, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

West Lincoln's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for East Burke, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 7-9.

West Lincoln has already played their next game, a 68-62 loss against Lincolnton on the 21st. As for East Burke, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-58 victory against West Caldwell on the 21st.
