The Red Bud Musketeers will head out to face off against the Columbia Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Red Bud is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Red Bud managed to slip by Carlyle the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Musketeers lost 9-3 to the Indians/Lady Indians on Tuesday. The matchup marked the Musketeers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Red Bud saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Kreher, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Crewe Wagner also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Columbia had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Tuesday. They blew past the Oilers 10-4. Considering the Eagles have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Columbia's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Red Bud, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-4 record.

Red Bud was able to grind out a solid win over Columbia when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Musketeers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
