Basketball Recap: St. James Takes a Loss

St. James suffered their biggest defeat since February 6, 2024 on Friday. They took a blow against the Wando Warriors, falling 53-23. The game marked the Sharks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Wando's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isabel Waite led the charge by going 6 of 9 on her way to 13 points. Waite has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Selah George, who posted 13 points and four steals.

With the loss, St. James broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-6. As for Wando, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

St. James wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 38-34 win against Myrtle Beach on the 7th. As for Wando, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-51 defeat against Bishop England on the 4th.
